It was exciting to greet Nab Stars and welcome them back on Monday morning. I'm still catching up on spring break adventures.
Thank you to the kindergarten and pre-first parents for attending the First Grade Parent Information Night before spring break. I enjoyed the opportunity to talk about our special school and the diverse learning opportunities we provide. Many good questions were asked, and I am happy to answer more. Please call or email for further clarification.
The Parent Input forms for placement were sent home on Monday. Please note the new directions and the letter on the reverse side explaining the new move up procedures and events. The K-5 principal team thoughtfully considered the anxiety many felt over the summer waiting to find out teacher assignments. If you haven't returned the placement form, please send it in on Monday. The pre-first letters should also be returned on Monday.
The 2016-2017 yearbook cover was chosen by the advisory council members. Four of the cover contest submissions will be on the back cover. The winners will be revealed in June when they yearbooks are distributed. This is Mrs. Eckroth's last year designing the yearbook, taking pictures and working with TreeRing to make spectacular Nabnasset School yearbooks! A huge thank you to Mrs. Eckroth for coming to us with a wonderful idea and a plan of action. This tremendous work will provide lasting memories for students, families and staff. If we want to continue the yearbook tradition, we need a volunteer. Mrs. Eckroth is happy to share her procedures, timeline and resources.
I hope you will visit us on Facebook and Twitter. Information and pictures were posted this week to give you a peek into our daily activities.
We would like to borrow 15 EZ Up tents to provide shade during Field Day (May 24th). Please let me know if you have one we may borrow.
I look forward to playing Bingo tonight (6:30-7:30) with second grade students. Please join the fun! Every student will go home with a book.
Next week an interview committee (including administrators, teachers, and a parent) will meet with six candidates for the .5 kindergarten teacher position. Demonstration lessons and interviews with Superintendent Olsen will follow.
Have a wonderful weekend.
