Although the weather doesn't feel like spring, other indicators remind us how the last three months of school can feel like a blur. Please see the attached flier for yearbook information. Mrs. Eckroth has been taking pictures since August. The candid photos and festive layout will certainly produce another treasured Nabnasset School yearbook filled with special memories. Please look for specific information about online ordering soon.
A huge thank you to Mrs. Pelletier for facilitating another popular Math and Science Night. We had about 70 families participate. The new slime station and the airplane activity drew large groups. Congratulations to Allie Dowd for winning the Block Guessing Contest. Thank you to the many volunteers for assisting with set up, supporting activities, and cleaning up. Special events, like the grade level Math and Science Nights, wouldn't be possible without parent volunteers. We are most grateful.
This afternoon we will have the last Star Reader Drawing. Participation remained high throughout the four weeks. Forty five names were drawn from the grade level canisters each week.
Thank you for following the online conference scheduling process. We look forward to sharing information next week during the conferences. As you prepare for your child's conference, please review the report card in the Parent Portal. The report cards will be available after 3:30PM today. I find this second trimester the most exciting one to review report cards based on student growth and progress from August.
Remember, the school routine changes next week based on the conference schedule:
* Wednesday, March 29 - 2 hour delay for conferences (9:00-11:00AM). Mrs. Harrison's before school program (7:00-9:00AM) will not be available. A day care option is offered, for a fee of $8.00, from 9:00-11:00AM in the cafeteria. There will be no morning kindergarten classes. Extended day kindergarten is available to both morning and afternoon classes at 11:00AM.
* Thursday, March 30 - no school, conferences between 2:00-8:00PM.
You may want to give yourself time to stop by the Scholastic Book Fair.
Mr. Middlemiss and Mrs. Harrison worked with Mrs. McCusker's class this week to collect and weigh the recycling bins. To date, our grand totals are impressive:
* 2,825 pounds of paper collected
* 24 trees saved
Next week we look forward to first grade classes returning to the Day School Living Lab as an extension of science explorations. Also, the Full Day Kindergarten Lottery will be held in the cafeteria on Tuesday, March 28th at 9:45AM. All are welcome to attend. There will be two classes next year. All families will be notified by mail of the outcome of the lottery.

Have a wonderful weekend.
