Happy St. Patrick's Day!
The snow day, two hour delay, and 16 inches of snow generated a flurry of excitement around the building. Some second grade classes had another opportunity to go snowshoeing around the back of the building.
Please be aware and revise your calendar for the new last day of school based on the latest snow day: Wednesday, June 21st. It will be an early release day (12:20 dismissal).
Due to the snow day on Tuesday, the Principal Hour has been rescheduled for Thursday, April 6th at 6:15PM in the library. Please join the open conversation, share ideas, ask questions, and meet Nabnasset families.
Thank you for adjusting your routine and schedule for our professional development afternoons. The purpose of our professional development time is to improve learning for educators and students. Yesterday the K-2 classroom teachers gathered at Blanchard Middle School. Elaine Santelmann, K-5 Science Coordinator, presented grade level sessions on "Strategies for Rich Science Discussions." The special education teachers, guidance counselors, psychologists, occupational therapists, speech and language pathologists, teaching assistants and behaviorists met at the Crisafulli School to discuss "Best Practices in Special Education" with Courtney Moran, Director of Student Support Services."
Please remind your child of the following choices when someone bothers them:
* tell them to stop
* walk away
* talk it over, let them know how you feel
* get help from a staff member
We prefer students don't wait until they get home to talk about it, so we can intervene right away.
There are 3 more days left to sign up for a parent/teacher conference. The sign up links are posted on the Nabnasset webpage. The links close on Monday, March 20th at 3:30PM.
The Parent Teacher Council is planning their traditional Teacher Conference Dinner for the night of Thursday, March 30th. Through your generous donations, the PTC is able to provide a wonderful home cooked dinner for teachers and staff who will be at school for conferences that evening. We are still in need of donations for the main course. Please visit http://tinyurl.com/NabDinner to donate. Thank you!
Next Wednesday, March 22nd we have Pre-First and First Grade Math and Science Night at 6:15PM. Mrs. Pelletier is facilitating the event. She has plenty of volunteers for set up and clean up. Volunteers are needed to help with activities. Can you lend a hand?
Have a wonderful weekend.
