We appreciated the Winter Blues Bluster Breakfast provided by the PTC on Wednesday morning. The balance between healthy choices and baked goods was perfect. Thank you for your contributions. We are grateful for the ongoing support.
This morning we gathered for our March community meeting. Please ask your child more about the following:
Greeting - Ms. Barth's class brought smiles to everyone by doing the "Doggie High Five" greeting along with a funny video. In addition, they showed us an energizer they enjoy. A special announcer led the activity.
Sharing - Mrs. Coulter's class shared facts about Abraham Lincoln and George Washington. Also, the final RISE book was unwrapped and revealed. Each class received the book Giraffe's Can't Dance, and will discuss how Gerald felt sad and alone until an unlikely friend encouraged him. We enjoy using picture books to teach our core values. They prompt important discussions that uncover valuable lessons.
Group Activity - Following up on our Read Across America celebration, we had a spirited Dr. Seuss Trivia game. It turns out, we know a lot about Dr. Seuss' large collection of books!
Morning Message - The message prompted students to encourage others by cheering them on, making them feel more hopeful, confident, and determined.
Many RISE certificates were awarded. We look forward to meeting with the two afternoon kindergarten classes on Monday.
We had the first of four Star Reader drawings this afternoon. Forty-five student names were announced, and the students met us in the conference room to chose a book. We look forward to seeing more coupons in the canisters next week.
If you have not submitted your Field Day t-shirt payment (due today), please send it to school on Monday.
Did you have a chance to read the four page Home School Connection newsletter that was sent home yesterday? Additional information about our activities were posted on Facebook and Twitter this week. These communications, combined with our webpage and teacher newsletters, should keep you well informed.
Please see the attached letter from Mrs. Robinson, interim art teacher.
Have a wonderful weekend. Stay warm!
